A Prayer Before Sunset

Faithful God, as I watch the day turn towards sunset, I remember that you neither slumber nor sleep. When I am tired, you are watching. When I am weak, your strength never runs out. Keep me in these last hours of the day from carelessness and slackness. Do not let my foot slip, but make my steps firm until the last moment of this day. Keep those I love wherever they are, in Yemen and beyond. And just as the sun you created does not vanish suddenly but bids the day farewell in beautiful colours, fill the end of my day with your beauty. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
