A Prayer in Times of Fear

Lord, fear lives in my heart today. I feel its weight on my chest, and I hear its lying voice in my ear. But I choose to hold on to your Word: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.” You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and self-control. My Lord, take this fear from my heart now, and fill me with your presence. May your peace guard my heart and my mind. Give me wisdom to know what to do, and courage to ask for help when I need it. I do not know what will happen, but I know that you know, and that you are with me every moment. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
