A Prayer for the Future and for Study

Lord of wisdom, in front of me are books, subjects and study, and a future whose shape I do not yet know. I dedicate my mind and my effort to you; give me understanding and wisdom from you. Teach me to trust in you with all my heart, and not to lean on my own understanding alone. When I grow tired of studying, remind me that I can serve you and serve others with what I learn. Do not let worry about tomorrow rob me of being present today. In all my ways I want to acknowledge you; make my paths straight, and guide my steps towards the way that glorifies your name. Into your hands I place the big decisions of my life, and I trust that you are leading me. Amen.
