A Prayer for Peaceful Sleep

Tender Father, the day is over and here I am, getting ready to sleep. I place my mind, my heart and my nerves in your faithful hands. Do not let my thoughts steal my rest. Everything I did not settle today I leave with you, and every fear of what may come I hand over to you as well. You neither slumber nor sleep, so let my heart be still in you and sleep in peace. Renew my strength tonight, and wake me tomorrow to your presence. And I pray with the psalmist: “In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.” Amen.
