A Prayer for Your Parents

My Lord, thank you for the parents you have given me. You commanded us to honour our fathers and mothers. Today I pray for their health and wellbeing. Make their days blessed and their nights peaceful. If one of them does not yet know you, shine your light into their heart. And if my relationship with them is difficult or wounded, help me to honour them with love and wisdom, and to forgive as you have forgiven me. I ask good things for them as I ask for myself, and today I honour them with my prayers, my conduct and my love. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
