A Prayer in the Face of Temptation

Mighty Lord, I live in a world where many temptations surround me — online, on the street, and under pressure from friends and society. Sometimes I feel weak. But your Word says that you are faithful, and you will not let me be tempted beyond my ability, but with the temptation you will also provide the way of escape. In every moment of temptation, remind me of your Word and open my eyes to see the way of escape you provide. And if I fall, remind me that your door is open to repentance, and that the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses me from all sin. Make my identity in Christ stronger than any outside pressure, and strengthen me by your Holy Spirit. Today I choose your way, relying on your strength, not mine. Amen.
