Fear Not, I Am with You

Again and again in the Bible, God says to his people, “Fear not”, because he knows our weakness and promises us his presence: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10). Fear may not disappear all at once, but it does not have the last word.

Here God does not promise you a road free of danger. He promises his presence with you on it. When fear presses on you today, tell him honestly what you are afraid of, and repeat this promise slowly. And if you are in real danger right now, first get help from your local emergency services or from someone you trust who is close by, and read our safety guidance.
